Flying Through May

During the month of May I was happy to help with two bridal showers, one for Emily Jensen....
...and another for Morgan Rindlisbacher. It is an exciting time for both sweet girls.
The twins continued to entertain. Sophie decided it would be more challenging to walk with a bucket on her head. Silly Sophie!
I flew to Colorado Springs on May 23rd to join in celebrating Justin's 5th birthday the following day. I love this boy more than Transformers!! (And that's a lot!)
Justin loved his new Transformer bike. We went for many walks and he got better and better at mastering the pedals and the brakes.
Annika attended her last day of 1st grade on Justin's birthday. I love this girl more than playing Candyland! (That's a lot, too!)
Justin enjoyed every one of this birthday gifts. Thanks for the frisbee, Lisa.
The birthday boy chose to have his birthday dinner at Red Robin. He had eaten there before and knew that singing and an ice cream treat would be coming his way.
He was not disappointed!!
Justin also graduated from preschool on his birthday. Kindergarten, here he comes!!
Kyle was ready and willing to help his brother blow the candles out on his birthday cake. I love Kyle more than a favorite blanket! (That's really a lot!)
Thank you for inviting me to Springs to celebrate your special day, Justin!!

College Grad

My niece, Steph Crabtree, graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Utah on May 4, 2012. We celebrated later that night at my brother's house. We are all very proud of Steph, especially Sophie! We know Steph has spent the last several years building lots of different things with lots of different stuff.....and she's pretty good at it! Hopefully Moccah will follow in Steph's footsteps one day. Grandma Boots and Gaby love a good party.Steph will resume school in the fall....on to her Masters Degree!! Way to go, Steph! Will you design my next house??

Team Newt

Carlee and I, along with the twins, participated in Walk MS 2012 on April 28th. It was a 3 mile walk that started and finished at The Gateway Mall. The funds raised from this walk support programs, services and research sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. We walked on Natalie vonElm's team. She is a friend and neighbor who was diagnosed with MS a year and a half ago. Jolene (Natalie's Mom) and I have been good friends for a long time. Natalie has had the nickname "Newt" for a long time too. I am not sure where it came from. Carlee and I worried about the weather. It has been known to snow in April in northern Utah. However, the weather was perfect. Gaby and Sophie enjoyed watching all of the people dressed in interesting outfits and the dogs who joined the procession. Natalie and Robbie Emily and Jaron Natalie had lots of support from parents, extended family and friends. It felt great to walk for such an important cause. I hope that one day a cure will be found for MS.

Easter 2012

I love Easter and I love President Monson's witness of the Atonement and Resurrection. He said, "I declare my personal witness that death has been conquered, victory over the tomb has been won. May the words made sacred by Him who fulfilled them become actual knowledge to all. Remember them. Cherish them. Honor them. He is risen.

I love Easter because it is a time to spend with family. We congregated at my house for dinner and the traditional egg hunt. Gaby was not yet walking so she sat on the front porch with Brian and hollered at the rest of us. Everybody found their egg except me! Ramses and Moccah hid them but couldn't remember seeing one with my name on it! Thankfully Moccah ran inside to quickly write my name on an extra egg. We enjoyed baked ham, salads, rolls and a yummy dessert Kris brought. Steph, Ramses and Celeste worked together to find their eggs in record time. Celeste found an extra surprise under the bush in the front yard....four duck eggs! Moccah amd Carlee helped Miguel find his egg lodged in the top of the maple tree. Rob, Sophie and I never found my egg but had a great time trying!!Happy Easter to all!!

Flash Back

Boy, have I got a lot of catching up to do! For that reason, I will attempt speed blogging. On April 6th, the Utah employees at Diacor participated in an egg hunt prior to the Easter weekend. Kevin  was very competitive! Tami was smart. She searched with a bucket in hand while the rest of us tried to hold our eggs or stuff them in our pockets. Julianne planned the hunt and hid all of the eggs. Matt was nearly run over by his dad but found some eggs in spite of the challenges. Cody sampled the treats..... While Brian hid his treats. I was happy with my stash. Thanks to Julianne for giving us a chance to act like a bunch of crazy kids!
